2020 Chevrolet Camaro Updates

The Chevrolet Camaro is getting big changes for the 2020 model year, including a new concept-inspired SS appearance, an LT1 V8 model, and a special 10-speed transmission option.

Arguably the biggest update is to the styling. The new Camaro SS front end design is based on a special Camaro Shock style which premiered at the 2018 SEMA Show. It features a repositioned bowtie, a body-colored bar, and a divided upper and lower grille.

“Customers spoke, and we listened,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet passenger car and crossover marketing. “The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the Shock’s stylized design helped prompt its transition from concept to production.”

Other Chevrolet Camaro updates include a new LT1 model, which combines the content and design of the Camaro 1LT with the SS. You can now opt for a 10-speed automatic transmission with the 3.6-liter V6 engine for all Camaro LT models. Other features include a vented hood, fender badges, special black bowtie, and 20-inch wheels. There’s also a technology package for improve infotainment.

You can also more easily personalize the 2020 Camaro. Options include a new Rally Green exterior paint color, an available rear spoiler on LS and LT trims, tinted tail lights, red seatbelts, and RECARO performance features, among other options.

At Bill Cram Chevrolet, we love these new Chevrolet Camaro updates. Stay tuned to learn more about the upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Camaro and visit us to test drive it when it arrives at the dealership this fall.

Chevrolet’s Drowsy Driving Do’s and Don’ts

Have you ever been tired while behind the wheel and kept driving anyway? That can be very dangerous, especially as it can lead to micro-sleeping (briefly falling asleep without you even realizing it) in traffic. Check out some of Chevrolet’s drowsy driving do’s and don’ts before you take your next road trip.

Phone a friend

Driving while drowsy is dangerous, so if you’re feeling too tired to drive, it’s best to phone a friend. Most Chevrolet vehicles feature hands-free calling, so it’s easy to keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while you reach out. Sometimes talking to someone is enough to keep you awake.

Use safety systems

It’s extremely important to engage all active safety systems, like Lane-Keep Assist, before you hit the road. It doesn’t matter if you’re drowsy or not. An extra set of eyes on the road is always helpful! At Bill Cram Chevrolet, many of our vehicles come equipped with advanced active safety technologies that can help.

Recognize your limit

We all have our limits, and while pushing them may be wise in some areas, driving isn’t one of them. Once fatigue sets in and your mind starts to wander, it’s best to call it quits for the day. It only takes a second of closing your eyes to cause a fatal accident. Staying alert is crucial to your own safety and the safety of others.

Remember: It’s better to arrive late than not at all!

Simple Spring Car Care Tips for Enjoying the Year’s Best Driving Weather

Spring is finally in full swing, which means it’s time to get out there on the open road to enjoy the best driving weather the year has to offer. Before you set off on. Your spring road trip, though, it’s important to take care of some routine maintenance. Not sure where to start? Check out these simple spring car care tips and get ready to drive with total confidence.

Wash and wax

Let’s face it, driving a car that looks better just feels better too. And not only that, giving your car a thorough wash after a long winter is a great way to protect your vehicle’s exterior from harmful buildup that can lead to rust. A good coat of wax seals everything up and adds an awesome shine.

Check the tires

Changing air temperature can cause air in tires to expand and contract, which can lead to under-inflation. This spring, make a habit of keeping an eye on your car’s tires and checking for proper inflation, alignment, and tread.

Replace wiper blades

Winter weather can really do a number on your car’s wiper blades. If yours are cracked, bent, or just not working like they used to, it’s time to replace them before you lose optimal visibility on the road.

Monitor battery

Finally, spring is the perfect time to test your car’s battery. If it isn’t holding a charge the way it should, replace it now before you’re left stranded.

If you’re concerned about car maintenance, just schedule a service appointment at Bill Cram Chevrolet. We’ll make sure your car is ready for the warm weather!

Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra: What’s the Difference?

The GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado are similar trucks — both are from General Motors and both built on the same platform. Additionally, both offer the same powertrain options. But the Sierra and the Silverado have always appealed to different demographics.

One difference between the 2019 Silverado and Sierra is their styling. The new generations of both trucks begin with the 2019 model year, and the Silverado’s design has branched out into a sleeker, more modern look while the Sierra maintains a more traditional boxy shape.

The Chevy Silverado is an all-purpose truck: it functions as a work pickup, a daily driver for families, and a capable off-roader, all in one vehicle. The outdoorsy Silverado is packed with features that add to its versatility at every trim level, making it appeal to a broader customer base than the GMC Sierra.

On the other hand, the Sierra is known for high-end luxury and its focus on creature comforts, with an array of advanced technologies and features you won’t find on another truck, not even the Silverado — like the Multi-Pro tailgate with six different configurations including a work surface. The Sierra is ideal for customers who want pickup capabilities with the comfort and state-of-the-art tech of a luxury car.

All that being said, the best way to discover the difference between the Sierra and Silverado — and to choose between one and the other — is to take a good look at both in person. And you can do just that at Bill Cram Chevrolet!
